1. Training Technology (Sailors) Course -

• Aim - At the end of Sailors training, the trainee will be able to to complete this course - To impart instructions using appropriate methods keeping in mind the psychological principles of learning.
• Course Duration - 4 Weeks
• Venue - INS Venduruthy, Naval Base, Kochi

2. CPO Management Course

• Aim - Gain knowledge in element and concepts of Human Resource Management.
• Requirement - Sailors must have adequate sea experience.
• Duration - 3 Weeks
• Venue - INS Agrani

Indian Navy AA SSR Branches and Trade Allotment

1. Seaman Branch - Surveying Recorder

• Aim of Branch - Upgrade professional skills in Survey Recorder Cadre, Gain knowledge of surveying operations & Train Junior sailors in the use of survey equipment.
• Course Requirement - Completed one year as Leading Seaman and Sufficient Sea Experience.
• Duration - 19 Weeks Training
• Venue - National Institute of Hydrography Headquarters Goa Area Vasco da Gama, Goa.

2. Gunnery Branch

• Aim of Branch - Carry out simple gunnery maintenance work and instruct junior sailors in servicing gunnery equipment, Upgrade professional skills in QA Cadre.
• Course Requirement - Completed one year as Leading Seaman / equivalent. and Sufficient Sea Experience.
• Duration - 13 Weeks Training
• Venue - INS Dronacharya, Kochi

 

3. Gunnery Branch - Radar Controller

• Aim of Branch - Upgrade professional skills in RC Cadre, Train junior sailors in the use of gun direction, gun layer and control equipment routines.
• Course Requirement - Completed one year as Leading Seaman / equivalent. and Sufficient Sea Experience.
• Duration - 11 Weeks Training
• Venue - INS Dronacharya, Kochi

 

4. Regulating Branch -Master at Arm Course

• Aim of Branch - Upgrade professional competence for performing, regulating and security duties, Keep liaison with the civil Police. MARCOS I
• Duration - 16 Weeks
• Venue - INS Mandovi, Goa. 

5. Seaman Branch - Physical Training Instructor

• Aim of Branch - Gain knowledge of rules and regulations of various games, Conduct PT Classes, Planning, supervision, co-ordination and execution of practical and physical training / sports events onboard ships / establishments.
• Requirement - Qualified in any basic course in physical training / physical education & all Below 35 Years
• Duration  - 18 Weeks
• Venue - INS Mandovi, Goa.

 

6. Communication Branch - Radio Operator

• Aim - Gain basic knowledge of communication, Communicate by light, semaphore and flag hoist, Handle messages.
• Requirement - Completed initial training and minimum two months sea Training.
• Duration  - 18 Weeks Traning
• Venue - INS Venduruthy, Naval Base, Kochi

7. Logistics Branch 

• Aim - Induct sailors in Store Cadre of Logistics Branch (Like a Army Clark), Carry out duties of Assistant in the stores / clothing sections.
• Requirement - Completed initial training and minimum two months sea Training.
• Duration - 21 Weeks Training
• Venue - INS Hamla, Mumbai

 

8. Under Water Weapon Course & Controller

• Aim - Upgrade professional skill of UW Sailors, Carry out the duties of Torpedo crew.
• Requirements - Sufficient sea experience.
• Duration - 16 Weeks Training
• Venue - INS Venduruthy, Naval Base, Kochi

 

9. Aviation Branch (Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Type) 

• Aim - Professional advancement in Aeronautical cadre Sailors, Assist Supervisor on servicing of relevant aircraft systems and equipment.
• Requirements - Maximum field experience & 10+2 Physics and Maths Compulsory
• Duration - 24 Weeks
• Venue - Naval Institute of Aeronautical Technology (NIAT) Kochi
