Education Qualification 
  • Education Qualification - Matriculation 10th Pass class with three years Engineering Diploma in Mechanical Branch / Electrical Branch / Electronics Branch and Telecommunication Branch (Radio or Power). This is a Excellent opportunity for Diploma Holders to Join Indian Coast Guard.
  • Age Limit - Minimum 18 Years to Maximum 22 years (5 Years relaxation for SC / ST Candidates and also 3 Years for OBC Candidates)


Indian Coast Guard Yantrik Selection Process

Indian Coast Guard Yantriks Posts Contain Four Stages to Join as A Yantriks (Sailors) in Indian Coast Guard.
  1. Call Up Letter (Admit Card) For Written Examination - Short listing criteria for Yantriks applications will be based on higher percentage of marks in the three years diploma course.
  2. Document Verification & Written Examination - Offline Exam
  3. PFT - Physical Fitness Test
  4. Medical Exam
  5. Final Merit List - Zone Wise Merit List will be Prepared.

Written Examination (Offline Based Examination)
 
Exam Type - Multiple Choice Questions (Objective Type)
Exam Language - Hindi and English (Mostly Refer English)
Exam Duration - 60 Minutes
Total Question - 80
Total Marks - 80
Negative Marking - No Negative Marking
Exam Based - Offline Exam  

PFT - Physical Fitness Test

Based on the performance in the written examination, candidates will be shortlisted for medical examination in a ratio as may be decided by Coast Guard. 

Qualify in PFT Physical Fitness Test is mandatory for Selection in Coast Guard.
Running 1.6 Km Run in 7 Minutes
20 Squats (Uthak Baithak)
10 Pushups 
Important Note - The candidates physically challenged are not eligible to apply for this post.

Medical Examination

Minimum Height 157 cm, Weight proportionate to Height and age.
Eye sight (Vision) 6 / 24 without glasses and 6 / 9 & 6 / 12 with glass for better eye and worse eye respectively. 

Selection of Candidates is based on the order of final merit list depending on their performance in Written Test, Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in the Medical Examination.
Indian Coast Guard Yantriks Syllabus
  • The written test will be objective type Multiple Choice Questions MCQs. The question paper will be contain questions from their respective branches (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics  &  Telecommunication)  and  will also include some questions of general knowledge, reasoning, aptitude & English.

Salary for Yantriks

On Final joining in Indian Coast Guard Yantriks post, you will be placed in Basic pay Rs.29200 /- (Pay Level 5). In additional, you will be paid Yantrik (Technical) Pay Rs.6200 /- (as per 7th pay) plus DA Dearness Allowance and other allowances based on nature of duty / place of posting as per the regulation enforced from time to time.
